ACCA is pleased to present two walking tours with the Koorie Heritage Trust with Yorta Yorta artist and weaver Donna Blackall alongside our current exhibition A Lightness of Spirit is the Measure of Happiness. The first tour will start at 1pm and the second tour at 3pm. Each tour will take approximately 1–1.5 hours.

Learn about Melbourne’s Aboriginal and early settlement history with Yorta Yorta artist and weaver Donna Blackall on a guided walking tour along the Birrarung Marr (beside the River of Mists or the Yarra River).

Beginning at the Koorie Heritage Trust, the walk takes in the Birrarung Wilam (Common Ground) Aboriginal art installations, which give a Kulin perspective to the knowledge you will gain during this fascinating journey. As the group meanders along the Birrarung Marr, Donna Blackall will take you through significant sites and landmarks including the site of the Elizabeth Street Creek and the original location of the Birrarung Falls where you will be able to look down to the first wharves constructed at the time of settlement and the long disappeared turning basins for sailing ships.
