E/Sensual Fragments: Neil Emmerson – Inhabit Me (Like a Memory)

The E/Sensual Fragments series included a solo project by artists who explored ideas of sexuality, sensuality, the erotic and the body. It was co-ordinated by Juliana Engberg and Rachel Young.

Emmerson’s concertina of lithographic screens occupied the Loti Smorgon Gallery with abstract patterns drawn from the gay male body. The work highlighted the historically powerful relationship between the gay body and theatre.
