ACCA, Dallas Brooks Drive, The Domain
In her exhibition, Norwegian Wood, Lisa E. Young constructed a diminutive room within a room, comprising a narrow hallway leading onto a passageway lined with cupboards, shelves and various openings. Some opened to simple empty spaces but others presented depthless voids within which popular songs, strange sounds and distant voices intermingled. These sounds and spaces were redolent of the past, of our childhood fascination with the nooks and crannies of domestic environs and doors that are locked containing adult secrets.
