In the grand and long tradition of surrealism in photography, one of Australia’s foremost photographers, Pat Brassington exhibited her latest series of doctored, digital prints. Gentle was a collection of images ‘gently’ but profoundly altered. The photos were slightly disorienting to the viewer because the content was occasionally abject or eroticised and it was often difficult to discern the subject, as there was no definite vantage point. All of these effects were created by Brassington through expert, subtle, digital manipulations.
