The Big Wall Project

ACCA was commissioned by the CROWN Metropol Hotel to create a series of large scale works for its external feature wall. Nicholas Mangan created a massive curtain collage, which referenced hand gestures, power and politics for the fist installation of the Big Wall Project. Some 18 metres long and over 9 metres high, the work was an imposing and operatic scale and utilized found images re-scaled, integrated and digitized to create a theatre of semiotic meanings. Power, corruption and political machinations between top of the town big business and government are implied in this work.
