Join us for an afternoon of artist talks, storytelling and song to launch A Lightness of Spirit is the Measure of Happiness curated by Hannah Presley. Start the afternoon in the galleries with a tour of the exhibition with exhibiting artists from interstate that have travelled to Melbourne for the opening weekend of the exhibition. Then we will move outside to the ACCA Courtyard for a session of storytelling and song around the fire with a Welcome to Country by N’arweet Carolyn Briggs, hosted by Uncle Larry Walsh with Jason Tamiru.
ARTIST TALKS: 1:30–2:30pm
Featuring: Sydney-based Wiradjuri and Kamilaroi artist Jonathan Jones; Robert Fielding, Vincent Namatjira and Kaylene Whiskey from communities of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) lands; as well as Western Arrernte artists Benita Clements and Mervyn Rubuntja from Ntaria/Hermannsburg.

Hosted by Uncle Larry Walsh with Jason Tamiru and presented with the Victorian Aboriginal Corporation for Languages (VACL) and Lead Media Partner, The Saturday Paper.
Featuring: Robbie Bundle, Uncle Jack Charles, Vicki Couzens, Black Elvis (Gnarnayarrahe Waitairie), Robert Fielding, Vincent Namatjira, Mervyn Rubuntja and Hubert Pareroultja.
