Join us offsite, at Loop Bar, for the launch of the online publication Writing in the Expanded Field – the final component of ACCA’s new writing program of the same name.
The publication will be launched by Max Delany, ACCA’s Artistic Director, and Lucinda Strahan, writer and researcher at RMIT’s non/fictionLab.
Comprising 14 writers, the program took place alongside ACCA’s exhibition Eva Rothschild: Kosmos 2018. Presented in partnership with RMIT University non/fictionLab and supported by Art+Australia, Art Guide Australia and The Lifted Brow, Writing in the Expanded Field explores new methodologies for art writing and criticism, opening up writing to an ‘expanded field’ in which the encounter between writer and artwork, and this engagement, may be animated by various writing positions between the critical, the personal and the imaginary.
Writing in the Expanded Field compiles new writing by each of the writers, their writing position, as well as documentation of the forum. The publication follows a Public Forum which took place at ACCA in November 2018, which became a score for this online publication.
