This exhibition, a curatorial collaboration between ACCA’s Clare Williamson and Hetti Perkins of Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Collective, Sydney, featured the works of six young and emerging urban indigenous artists. It addressed specific issues surrounding representation and cultural identity through photo-based work, colour laser copies and computer generated imagery. The work of these artists was both humorous and political. It challenged general perceptions of indigenous identity and indigenous artistic practice. Supported by Visions Australia and the Australia Council, this exhibition toured throughout 1995 and 1996.
