In A Second Simplicity Domenico de Clario created a space made up of various apertures through which a world within a world could be glimpsed. A replica of the apartment the de Clario family had inhabited when living in Trieste, Italy, was built at ACCA for this exhibition. The artist, his mother and father, assorted family and friends inhabited the ‘apartment’, living their lives, cooking and telling stories which the public could overhear. De Clario presented a 12 hour improvised piano performance as part of the exhibition.
