The E/Sensual Fragments series included a solo project by artists who explored ideas of sexuality, sensuality, the erotic and the body. It was coordinated by Juliana Engberg and Rachel Young.
Well known for her photographic puzzles and set-ups, this photographic installation continued Fiona Macdonald’s investigation of photography and its vexed relationship to representation and reception. By presenting a ‘queer’ landscape and a ‘natural’ act, she engaged with the issues of politically correct ‘queer’ art and set out to provoke a reaction in a society numbed by mass imagery.
