Jude Walton: No Hope, No Reason

8 Oct–12 Oct 2004

ACCA Main Exhibition Gallery

Originally developed and performed at Deutscher, Brunswick Street in 1991, No Hope No Reason was a vivid coming together of art, music, voice, dance, and theatre – possibly one of the first artist projects to combine new media in such a demonstrative fashion. No Hope No Reason blurred the boundaries between opera, cabaret, performance and art. Presented as part of the 2004 Melbourne Festival’s ‘VOICE’ series the work was presented in ACCA’s large exhibition hall, alternating during the day with Shirin Nishat’s Turbulent.
