ACCA is delighted to announce Could Cool Claoud 2021 a new video installation by internationally-acclaimed French artist Laure Prouvost, commissioned by ACCA in collaboration and dialogue with Kunsthal Charlottenborg, heralding the beginning of a longer-term relationship between the geographically disparate cities of Melbourne and Copenhagen.

Laure Prouvost works with a richly imaginative artistic language encompassing film and installation as well as sculpture, sound and performance. She is known for her sensuous and evocative immersive installations where the boundaries between fiction and reality become blurred and the ambiguities of language are explored.

Taking audiences on a journey above the clouds, Prouvost’s new commission imagines a universal dream space of expanded horizons, in which we may escape our physical realities and collapse distances and differences, to reach out and embrace one another again. In part a response to the constraints and limitations of the time in which the work was made, Could Cool Claoud is a joyous celebration of liberation and imagination, the sensual and sensuous, being and belonging, care and connection.

Could Cool Claoud is presented at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, as part of Laure Prouvost’s exhibition Our elastic arm hold in tight through the claouds, until 8 August 2021.

The second chapter of the exhibition Laure Prouvost: Through the claouds our elastic arm hold in tight will open at ACCA in 2024.
