ACCA, Dallas Brooks Drive, The Domain
For TM/MF Sonic Youth guitarist/legend Thurston Moore improvised ten tracks on guitar in his studio, using various techniques to introduce chance and spontaneity (such as sliding a bottle along the strings, or shoving the guitar against the amplifier). The songs were recorded and each performance videotaped. Australian painter Marco Fusinato responded to these recordings in his own studio by making ten distinct paintings, one for each track. Each painting was completed within the duration of a track and similarly Fusinato was videotaped. The exhibition at ACCA comprised the results of this exchange.
