Extending our exhibition Between Waves beyond the gallery walls, ACCA is pleased to present Maree Clarke’s now you see me: seeing the invisible #2 in partnership with Fed Square, showing daily from 5–7pm during NAIDOC Week until 19 July, and from 21 August–3 September.

now you see me: seeing the invisible #1 is a major new work presented as a collection of variously coloured acetate prints in the gallery for Between Waves, revealing the microscopic internal worlds and cellular structures of river reeds, a material Maree Clarke has been working with for over 15 years.

The series of microscopic photographs have been adapted into an animated projection, now you see me: seeing the invisible #2, for Fed Square’s screens. Situated on a significant sacred ceremonial site for the five clans of the Eastern Kulin Nation and overlooking the Birrarung, the work at Federation Square makes visible the micro systems of place and the material memory of Country, in what is now a built environment.
