Shirin Neshat: Turbulent

8 Oct–12 Oct 2004

ACCA Main Exhibition Gallery

Turbulence is the insubordination of the calm order of things – the taboo. ACCA’s major exhibition hall became the charged site for Shirin Neshat’s remarkable duel video work Turbulent.  On two massive, floating screens, the audience was trapped between the culture of male and female, voice and sound, music and utterance.

This exhibition was presented in partnership with the 2004 Melbourne International Arts Festival and their theme of the  ‘Voice’.
