Strangely Familiar. Melbourne Scotland Cultural Exchange

29 Aug–4 Oct 1998

ACCA, Dallas Brooks Drive, The Domain

An exhibition of site specific installations by two Scottish artists, Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and Australian artists, Andy Thomson, Leslie Eastman and Daniel von Sturmer. This was part of a major program, Morning Star Evening Star, an international cultural exchange between Melbourne and Glasgow. Through video, photography, sound and installation, ACCA’s exhibition contribution to this program drew attention to the often overlooked but poignant moments of everyday life as they operate through acts of memory, recognition and association. Other participating art organisations in Melbourne included Centre for Contemporary Photography, 200 Gertrude Street and the Museum of Modern Art at Heide.
