Tom Nicholson: Lines towards Another is the first edited anthology on the work of Australian contemporary artist Tom Nicholson. Published to coincide with two major exhibitions of Nicholson’s work at the Institute of Modern Art (IMA) in Brisbane, Tom Nicholson Drawings and correspondence, 2018 and Tom Nicholson: Public Meeting at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) in Melbourne, 2019.
Edited by Amelia Barikin and Helen Hughes, Tom Nicholson: Lines toward Another includes an introduction by Aileen Burns, Max Delany and Johan Lundh, along with an ambitious collection of essays by leading Australian and international writers, art historians and cultural theorists, including: Amelia Barikin, Tony Birch, Brigid Crone, Anthony Gardner, Helen Hughes, Annika Jaspers, Ryan Johnston, John Mateer, Minhea Mircan, Grace Samboh and Ann Stephen.
Lines towards Another is designed to be the most comprehensive critical resource available on Nicholson’s practice to date.
