Call out for white shirts

ACCA invites you to donate white button-up shirts to contribute to a new art installation. We are seeking donations of old and unused white button-up shirts, short or long sleeves, clean or stained, with all quality and condition accepted – but please give them a quick wash before you donate!

The white shirt is a symbolically loaded and rich social marker. Remember all those sweaty school uniforms, starched First Holy-Communions, stiff temple bests, crisp weddings, ethnic funerals, stained office attire, and worn-out service uniforms?

The shirts will contribute to a new installation as part of James Nguyen: Open Glossary in collaboration with Tamsen Hopkinson, Budi Sudarto, Kate ten Buuren and Chris Xu (16 September – 19 November 2023).

We look forward to your donations and collective contribution to this major project!
