Join our community event and closing celebration for Who’s Afraid of Public Space? with a one-day only presentation of DAS BOOT: Artist Car Boot Fair, curated by Melbourne/ Naarm-based artists Oscar Perry and Esther Stewart.

Following the success of Das Boot, developed by Perry and Stewart as part of Next Wave Festival in 2014, DAS BOOT: Artist Car Boot Fair will utilise the format of a weekend market and car boot sale to present the work of Melbourne-based artists, creating an opportunity to engage both the local artistic community and wider public, as well as for artists to reach new audiences and to benefit directly from the sales of their work. Situated outside the gallery walls, and within proximity to the Melbourne Arts Precinct and wider city surrounds, DAS BOOT: Artist Car Boot Fair invites the public to consider the role of art in public space and everyday life, outside of an institutional or gallery context.
