Welcome to ACCA’s Drawing Club! This series will push the boundaries of drawing, allowing you to explore new skills and styles whilst refining your technique. Each workshop is inspired by the exhibition and supported by a different artist facilitator.
Designed to drop in, join us for one session or all four. Perfect for educators and life long learners alike. No prior experience needed. This workshop series is open to the general public and teachers. The session will also feature an introduction to the exhibition and light refreshments will be provided.
All material provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own personal materials (e.g. visual diaries, pencils, etc.) if preferred.
ACCA is pleased to announce the fourth Drawing Club for 2026 with ACCA alum Mira Gojak (NEW05). Join this dynamic workshop to explore how a line on a blank page can trace both continuous movement and its discontinuity through various forms of interruption.
Working with colour and a range of drawing processes, including pencil, charcoal and Texta, the workshop will investigate the tension between continuity and disruption as a line moves across the page. These ideas will be explored in response to the works in NEW26.
This workshop is open to the general public and teachers.

BIOGRAPHY
Mira Gojak lives and works in Melbourne. She studied science, psychology and zoology before completing a fine arts degree. Her exploratory practice is informed by these disciplines, perhaps enabling her to move freely between abstraction and figuration, gesture and structure across her drawings, sculptures and installations.
Gojak’s works often begin by extending a line drawing into space. Through a process of entanglement or accumulation, these lines materialise as works where the distinction between internal and external forces becomes unclear, embodying a tension between movement and stillness, continuity and cuts.
Here the idea of a threshold allows opposing actions and their repetitions to play out in and through time. Repetition is performed almost as a ritual, as though bound to the strange logic of a fable, where each return may become a passage towards transformation.
Gojak has participated in exhibitions at public institutions, commercial galleries and artist-run project spaces in Victoria and interstate. Her work is held in the collections of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Art Gallery of South Australia, Buxton Contemporary, Heide Museum of Modern Art, McClelland Gallery, Monash University Collection, National Gallery of Australia and National Gallery of Victoria, as well as in various private collections.
