Do you have a secret fear you’d like to share? Come and meet artist Cherine Fahd to hear about her series Fear of – exhibited in part in On Vulnerability and Doubt – and anonymously contribute your fears to the ongoing collaborative project.
Fear of uses public space to create a public-private encounter by declaring collected fears on paste up posters in public. By sharing things with the world that would not ordinarily be revealed, this act of vulnerability is a communal offering to diminish the significance of our fears. Fahd’s method of communication – black text in a generic font on plain white paper – is dry and didactic, making our fears seem humorous in poster form.
