Join us for a special keynote lecture by Jenny Schlenzka, recently appointed Artistic Director of Performance Space New York. Schlenzka will speak about new challenges for Performance Space New York and focus on the new direction she is bringing to the organisation, and reflect upon new developments and challenges curating and exhibiting performance art.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Jenny Schlenzka is Performance Space New York’s Executive Artistic Director. Prior to joining Performance Space, Schlenzka was the Associate Curator at MoMA PS1 in New York​,​ where she established​ Sunday Sessions,​ an interdisciplinary​,​ weekly live program featuring  performances, workshops, screenings, talks and more. Between 2008 and 2012, Schlenzka was the Assistant Curator for Performance in the Department of Media and Performance Art at The Museum of Modern Art, where she was the first curator to focus on presenting, collecting as well as exhibiting performance-based art, and where she co-organized the Performance Exhibition Series with artists like Tehching Hsieh, Simone Forti, Roman Ondák by Xavier Le Roy and Anne Imhof among many others​.​ In 2012, she received the Yoko Ono Courage Award. ​
