Lou Hubbard is an artist, writer and academic at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne. Her art practice references the expanded fields of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and the moving image. Hubbard’s video and sculpture practice focuses on training and submission and the aesthetics of sentimentality. She uses a combination of both rudimentary and refined approaches in her practice, refusing any tendency toward embellishment or inscrutable artifice.
