ACCA’s inaugural Yalingwa commissions exhibition, A Lightness of Spirit is the Measure of Happiness, invites artists to examine the strength and pride that permeates all aspects of Aboriginal communities. Referencing pop culture, country music icons and community leadership, as well as the legacy of ancestors, the exhibition aims to acknowledge the importance of coming together to strengthen identity and connection.
In this professional development program we will investigate the artists’ diverse practices, explore major themes within the exhibition and translate these ideas into responding and making activities for primary and secondary (F-10) teaching contexts.
