Monika Sosnowska:
Regional Modernities

10 Aug–29 Sep 2013

ACCA Main Exhibition Gallery

This striking exhibition was the first major showing of internationally acclaimed Polish artist, Monika Sosnowska, in the southern hemisphere. Known for her large, psychologically charged sculptural installations, and often influenced by the changing landscape of her native Warsaw, Sosnowska created three new works especially for ACCA’s distinctive spaces. This series of encounters played with notions of the public and private, scale and monumentallity. The minimal materiality of the works belying their powerful command of the ACCA spaces.
