Paul Taylor (1957–92) was an Australian art critic, curator, editor and publisher. In 1981, he founded Art + Text, a contemporary art journal considered to be responsible for generating and promoting postmodernist discourse in Australian art. Taylor also worked as a curator (Popism, National Gallery of Victoria, 1982; Tall Poppies, University of Melbourne Gallery, 1983) before moving to New York where he worked as an art journalist, writing for Vanity Fair, Interview Magazine, Parkett, and the New York Times. This exhibition was held in memorial to his early death from HIV. It featured work from Taylor’s private collection.
