Light with Hope – Harmonious 希望之光 – 和谐 2021–22 by Jenny Zhe Chang uses lanterns made of bamboo steamers and construction materials to explore Chinese-Australian history.

Jenny Zhe Chang is a Melbourne-based artist with an interest in exploring presentations of site-specific installation, sculptures, paper cuttings and paintings that investigate the interaction between Eastern and Western ways of being. Chang has exhibited nationally and internationally, with recent exhibitions and public artworks including Light with Hope, Testing Grounds, Melbourne (2021); Love! From Head to Toe, Tian Qiao Theatre, Beijing(2019–22); An Exchange with Sol Lewitt, Cabinet Gallery, New York (2011); and South Wind Rises, Asia-Pacific Contemporary Art Exhibition, Taipei (2018). Chang holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the VCA, University of Melbourne, and a Master of Computing from Monash University.

Test Sites Phase 2  is curated by Arie Rain Glorie, and produced by the City of Melbourne and Testing Grounds.

A trace object from this project will also be presented at ACCA, in the Project Space: The Hoarding over the duration of the exhibition.
